Medical Image Sharing: Requirements

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by admin on 30-09-2010

Sharing important medical images, mostly diagnostic results, can surely help improve the quality and swiftness of a medical institution’s workflow, especially when dealing with unique or difficult health cases that require expert opinions. That is why medical image sharing is now integrated as part of the general PACS solution. What are the requirements that must be met in order to use medical image sharing? When you use online medical image storage and sharing solution, there is actually no requirement other than a working internet connection.

This is because the storage and sharing platform is designed to be accessible using nothing but a standard web browser thanks to its web-based user interface. Once you have the system properly set up, sharing important pieces of information can be done easily by granting and denying access to the related records. Of course, there are also security requirements, especially since the shared records are sensitive. A reliable online medical image sharing solution must offer proper security measures, including the use of port 443 (SSL) and proper encryption. Others might use secured VPN connection for medical image sharing between two or more remote computers. Simply review the features offered by your service provider to see if these necessary security measures are included as part of the service.

Keeping Kids Safe

When the weather is warm children are outside more playing with friends and doing what kids do.  These summer months are when more personal injuries happen.  On the list of accidental deaths among children, drowning is number one.  No matter how shallow the water is, your child should always be supervised when in the water.  Those who own swimming pools must have it fenced and rescue equipment must be accessible.
Camp fires are another way for an injuries to occur. Adults should be the ones in charge of the fire pit at all times.

Taking your child to the playground is supposed to be an enjoyable trip.  As a parent, it is up to you to look for potential safety hazards.  Guardrails should be in place on bridges and slides so that the kids are safe.  Watch also for splinters on playground equipment or rusted parts that need to be replaced.

The sandbox is always an area that should be checked before entering and if your child is injured by the equipment at a public playground, you might have a case to file for a personal injury.  For more on injury claims visit Irwin Mitchell solicitors.

Informed medical decisions

People say that medicine is a world where split decisions save people’s lives. This is true, doctors and nurses need to be on their toes all the time, and not only when treating trauma patients in the emergency room. A simple case can turn into a big problem if left untreated and unforeseen complications may turn up in even the most simple of procedures. Doctors and nurses are trained for these kinds of situations, and usually respond well, especially as they accumulate experience and confidence.

But what about when a patient needs to make a decision? More often than we’d like, it’s up to the patient to decide what course of action to take. We’ve all seen stories of patients choosing to sign no-resuscitation orders in case their bodies cease to function, or patients refusing aggressive treatments for also-aggressive diseases like cancer – even when these denials mean death.

If the decision is ultimately up to the patient, it’s the doctor’s responsibility to let him or her know of all the possibilities, venues and consequences of each action. Some doctors prefer to talk from experience; others like to use statistics instead. The method is unimportant, what is important is that the patient’s decision is an informed one. This is especially important in the kind of information society we live in, where patients often get bombarded with news items that more often than not focus primarily on the negative side. It’s sadly not uncommon to see patients refuse blood transfusions because they have heard on television that some blood might be contaminated with diseases, for example, or, giving a more recent example, to refuse to take a hip replacement surgery because of the DePuy lawsuit. If you’re going to refuse treatment, make sure that you do it in an informed and intelligent, well thought manner.

Medical negligence, also referred to as malpractice, can include anything from the wrong prescription, misdiagnosis of a disease, surgical errors or injuries during childbirth.  All of the staff who work in hospitals, the doctors, nurses and related staff, must all adhere to standards that are high when it comes to healthcare.  On occasion, negligence does occur and when this happens, it is the patient who suffers.

If you or someone you love has found them-self in this situation, the law says that you are entitled to compensation through a claim for medical negligence. Visit the site for more on clinical negligence

Not that all of the items are healthy or low in calories but I think it says something about a place that will allow you to see what they are putting on your sandwich. There are many good choices at Subway because they offer Subway discount codes on so much of a variety.

One of the best options for me is the vegetable pizza. I enjoy the bread and the fact that the veggies are not over cooked. It is healthy and inexpensive for a lunch or dinner meal. They also offer alternatives to soda, such as water or juice. The chips are available to purchase with a sandwich at a discount and they do offer baked varieties.

If I get a sandwich I will get something with chicken in it and try to go easy on the mayo, so it is a healthier sandwich. A 12 inch sandwich is enough for two meals for me, so I get one and save half for later. I also get a water and baked chips for the meal price.

Eating healthy isn’t easy when leaving the house, but Subway offers many choices for those concerned with diet and health. A good tip is to load up on the veggies and stay away from fattening condiments.
