The medical profession is among the most honored and honorable in the world. Every day medical professionals such as doctors and nurses put their lives on the line and sacrifice great parts of their personal and family lives to give people medical help. We all have great respect for the medical profession and all it has given to humanity. But there is a dark side to medicine, like there is to all walks of life, where faulty, greedy or ill-prepared medical professionals deliver people a bad service, often causing more harm than that they were attempting to resolve. This is, fortunately, not the case in the great majority of cases, but it’s important to be aware that this reality does exists and that none of us are free from it.
Filing a clinical negligence claim is something that cannot be done half heartedly. We are talking about people’s lives here, both those of the medical professional who is being accused and those of people he or she is taking care of and that will take care of in the future. This means that you should first and foremost seek legal advice and only later come up with accusations. Remember that slander can ruin someone’s career as much as a lawsuit.
